Aberdeen's prize asset is still Aberdeen's prize asset as anotehr transfer window closes with Lee Miller still at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood can sleep easier now that the transfer window has closed. He spent the whole of January expecting a call that would start the process of striker Lee Miller moving on. However, Calderwood needn't have worried as the window shut at 5pm on Monday with Miller still at Pittodrie. Calderwood said he was by no means certain that would be the case as he sweated over potential offers for the man he describes as the best forward in Scotland.

He said: "
I'm delighted the window has closed with Lee still here. There was always a fear that someone might try to snatch Lee away because he is in great form and is back involved with Scotland. For my money, Lee is now the best striker in Scotland and you can be sure clubs in England have taken note of his form. But I reckon it's as good for Lee as it is for Aberdeen that nothing happened. We might have been made an offer we couldn't turn down but I don't think it would have been beneficial for Lee to leave. He is playing every week at Aberdeen, which is why he is back in with Scotland. The fans love him and everyone at Pittodrie does as well, so it would be good for him to stay here for at least another year. Other events might decide that, but I'm hoping that will be the case."
