All clubs will be watching the fall-out from the Ibrox administration to apply to their own situation and avoid losing control

St Mirren manager Danny Lennon believes that the Rangers situation should serve as a warning for other Scottish clubs. Administrators Duff and Phelps were appointed on Tuesday to run the club's affairs after a court battle with Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs. Lennon insists clubs must learn to live within their means, rather than taking on unmanageable debt for short-term gain. Lennon said: "It's very sad for a club the size of Rangers to find themselves in the position that they are in. I think it's now time for all the Scottish clubs to ensure they have their house in order. Going into debt perhaps will give teams short or medium-term advantage but the current situation shows just how incredibly harmful it can be."
 
Looking ahead to Saturday, Lennon's know a win over Dundee United would move them above the Tannadice side and the Buddies closer to the top-six. St Mirren have no fresh injury worries ahead of the game but will be without top-scorer Steven Thompson who was sent off in Saints' 2-1 William Hill Scottish Cup victory at Ross County. Lennon added: "Steven is a vital player for us and he was looking forward to going up against his old club, but it presents an opportunity for another player to step up. It's an exciting time of the season and we are delighted to be going into the last seven games of the season two points behind a place in the top six. We have a very good record against Dundee United in my time in charge here and we will go there hoping to keep that record intact. We are playing against a side who outside Celtic are the in-form team. United for me are a team that produces very good youngsters, they continually make the later stages of the cup and that's the kind of thing we are trying to achieve."
 
Tuesday evening's win over County earned the Paisley side a Scottish Cup quarter-final meeting with Hearts at Tynecastle. Lennon is hoping their success over the Irn Bru First Division leaders can inspire them to their first league win of 2012. Lennon said: "Any type of win is very important and that's what we strive for on a weekly basis. The lads did terrifically well against a very strong Ross County side, especially after playing an hour with 10 men, we now need to try and build on that win against Dundee United. It's nice to be able to look ahead to a cup quarter-final, Paulo Sergio is a manager that interests me a great deal given his cultural background in the game. He is a lovely man and has done very well at Hearts given the difficult circumstances they have had recently."
