Soccerworld has been a godsend to clubs with frozen training assets.

The Soccerworld indoor football centre at Junction 11 of the M8 in Glasgow has made a number of friends in the professional game. The recently opened centre with a third generation artificial surface has welcomed a host of clubs from the West of Scotland including Albion Rovers, Airdrie United, Stranraer, Hamilton Accies, Kilmarnock, Alloa and Partick Thistle to use the facilities for training. Centre manager Iain McDermott was alive to the opportunity the freezing conditions provided and  arranged to open up on New Years Day and January 2 to help some clubs out.

McDermott said: "We only began the centre in September so it has been good to be able to help out football teams so quickly. We opened the doors on Saturday as Airdrie were looking for somewhere to train before they faced Dundee the following day. They then won at Dens Park so I would like to think we helped them to some extent."
