There is still life in the supporters at least as they try to save their club

Stirling AlbionPaul Goodwin, spokesperson for the Buy Stirling Albion campaign said: "We are very concerned at the latest developments because it simply reiterates just how precarious the situation is for Stirling Albion FC.  Despite assurances from the Chairman that there is no threat to the future of the club each time a story of this nature surfaces, this latest situation justifies our long held view that there is an urgent need for radical changes to the structure of the club before it's too late. At a time like this we want to sit down with Stirling Council, Peter McKenzie and Gordon Mackay (who, last December, noted interest in buying the club) to try to sort out a deal to safeguard the future of the club.  Despite several attempts to arrange further talks with Gordon Mackay we are no closer to understanding what his timetable for the purchase of the club is, nor do we know what role he envisages for the Supporters Trust in his management structure and with time clearly not on anyone’s side this is extremely important for us to know. We firmly believe that the Stirling Albion Supporters Trust must play an active role in the future of the club but until then all we can do is promise our supporters that we’ll keep up our fundraising efforts so that if the worst comes to the worst, we’ll be ready."
