Not great news when you have just signed a new contract for a year and then get injured.

Albion Rovers Marc Pollock will be out for 12 months thanks to a medial ligament injury he picked up during a friendly game with Bellshill at the National football Centre at Toryglen. This is a huge blow for the player and the club. The striker was hospitalised a week past Saturday and the bad news has only just been diagnosed. Coatbridge boss Paul Martin said: "It is a real blow for Marc and for ourselves. We had hoped he would only be out for three months and the ironic thing is that he had only come on as a substitute when he landed awkwardly."

Pollock has scored three times this season and had only just signed a new deal for another year at Cliftonhill when he was injured. The club are willing to support Pollock despite not being able to get a return on their investment for a while. Martin said: "The contract is not an issue as ideally Marc will be part of our team here for a few years yet once he bounces back from his injury."
