Scotland could top their Under 21 Group before they take a break till September

Billy Stark named his squad for tomorrow's Under 21 game against Azerbaijan last month with the vast majority plying their trade in Scotland. Only four of the squad, midfielders Paul Coutts, Kevin McDonald, Stephen McGinn and goalkeeper Alan Martin earning their living down south. At least four of the squad will be familiar with their surroundings at the Falkirk Stadium, with Jamie Barclay (currently on loan to east Stirlingshire), Chris Mitchell (currently on loan to Ayr United), Scott Arfield and Thomas Scobbie being part of the Falkirk set up.
Three points from Tuesday night’s game would take Scotland to the top of their group with two games left; to be played in September away against Belarus and at home (Pittodrie) against Austria. Scotland beat Azerbaijan 4-0 in the away game and will be installed as favoutites. However, Scotland rarely do well in such circumstances and the squad will have to be on their toes to make sure they get the right result.
Goalkeepers Jamie Barclay (Falkirk on loan to East Stirlingshire) Scott Gallacher (Rangers) Alan Martin (Leeds United)
Defenders Paul Caddis (Celtic) Brian Easton (Burnley on loan to Hamilton Academical) Paul Hanlon (Hibs) Chris Mitchell (Falkirk on loan to Ayr United) Ross Perry (Rangers) Thomas Scobbie (Falkirk) Daniel Wilson (Rangers)
