You have to make the best of every chance you get in life and Ross Campbell wants to make the best of his time in Canada
Campbell is determined to savour every moment of the tournament, acknowledging that many players never get the chance to play for their country. He said: "I'm really and extremely proud to be getting the chance to represent my country at this level. I'm lucky that it's my generation that are getting the chance to compete at a World Cup because for Scottish players these opportunities don't tend to come along too often. I've only played three games for the Under-20s and that's the only involvement I've had with Scotland at any level. It's been good playing for them and I've been happy with how I've done. I knew about the competition a good few months ago because guys like Steven Fletcher and Andy McNeil were always odds-on to get there. But I never really thought that I'd get a chance. It's been a bit of a dream really and it's a chance I certainly want to make the most of. It's been a while since Scotland were last at a World Cup and who knows when the next time will be so we have to do ourselves justice." | ||||
