Having the name Dalglish means you have a lot to live up to in footballing terms. Can Paul make a decent start to the season with Hibs on which to build his own reputation?

Hoppes to have something to celebrate at Hibs
Today's InterToto Cup tie against Dinaburg provides an early chance for Hibs Paul Dalglish to hit the ground running as he looks forward to his first full season at the Easter Road club. The footballing nomad moved to the Edinburgh club in January - his 12th club since starting out as an apprentice at Celtic - after a spell at Livingston. He said: "I was fairly happy at the way I played at Livingston but I was quite disappointed about how I played when I first came to Hibs. However, I think I showed a little bit of what I was capable of towards the end of the season. Hopefully I can start the season that way and if I do it should be a good year for me."

Dalglish did not make an instant success of his time with Hibs and often found himself on the bench. However, with Derek Riordan having left for Celtic, he now has the chance to finally realise his potential this season. Dalglish went on: "
I worked really hard over the summer because I've still got a lot to prove at Hibs. At the end of the season I took a few weeks off and then I was back to training most days. There was a meeting before the end of the season and we were given a fitness programme to do over the summer and everyone seems to have stuck to it. I put a lot of work in and I've came back feeling fit."
