Ian McCall and Gardner Speirs have set themselves some challenge as they look towards the 2007-08 season

New Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall has plans to bring the thrills back to Firhill after getting his feet under his new desk. McCall has not wasted much time is telling 13 players they are free to find new clubs as he bids to improve on Thistle's seventh-place finish in the First Division last season. The former Dundee United and Queen of the South manager has brought in Gardner Speirs as his assistant as he takes on his latest challenge.

McCall said: "
The main thing is to play a certain style of football and try to get the fans entertained. Gardner is known for that type of football. We need to give the fans an attractive product to come to watch. There are supporters out there and hopefully they come back. My main aim is to get the home form better. I have looked at the statistics and it's not good. I want to make Firhill a place where other teams don't like coming."
