Hibs and Dunfermline were annoyed about having to play a cup semi-final replay on Tuesday. Next year that could be a thing of the past.
| Things could be changing as far as the Scottish Cup is concerned. Celtic won the historic trophy on Saturday but the door could be about to open which could see a new name added to the long list of cup winners. This Friday sees the Annual General meeting of the SFA and the agenda sees proposals for changes to be introduced to who and when the cup runs really start. The vote will be open to all member clubs with only an outright majority required to see the changes put in place for next season. The SFA's Board of Directors have put forward proposals including: Up to four Junior clubs for the first time - the three Super League winners and the Junior Cup winners, to be invited to join the clubs eligible for the cup; An end to the Qualifying Cup competitions (North and South) with the introduction of an all-in draw at the first round; and Playing semi-finals to a conclusion (no replays). | |
