Building projects are blighted with delay and Hearts will just have to wait for the appropriate permissions to come along before upgrading their ground.

Romanov's field of dreams
Hearts may not be able to go ahead with their new main stand as they had hoped. The drive to increase the capacity at Tynecastle is still there and the club had hoped to begin work on the stand this summer. However, the results of the local elections, which delivered a change in the administration of Edinburgh's City Council, is just the latest in a long lines of delays to hit the project. It now looks as though building work will not begin until nearer the end of the year.

Owner Vladimir Romanov is as frustrated any as fan about the delay in his plans but he has assured them that the project to upgrade the dilapidated main stand are still at the forefront of his plans for the club. He said: "
What can I say? It looks like we are not likely to get a permit to build a new stand before the New Year. But as soon as we get it we will do it. It is not that far away. So I think that's the target for next year. We are very, very much looking forward to that being done."
