Speed is something that is handy in a winder and Andrew Driver wants to show just how quick he can be.

I want to be a bit faster
Hearts winger Andrew Driver aims to build up his speed in a bid to grab a regular place at Tynecastle. He made 22 appearances last season as he broke into the first team. Now the Englishman is keen to recover the pace of his youth after getting over some niggling injuries. He said: "
I want to be a bit faster, at the end of the season I looked a bit slow. I have already been getting a bit quicker since my rest. I have been working on that with the sprint coach, that and getting a bit stronger. My dad was a sprinter when he was a younger and when I was at school when I played rugby I was like lightning. I had a couple of injuries since I went full-time and that set me back. It's all there, so if I get a bit of sprint training hopefully it will improve."

Driver is keen to improve all aspects of his game and not rest on his laurels after a promising start to his professional career. He said: "
I want to be first choice but even if I'm not playing every week I want to work on things in training and improve. As long as you recognise what you're not doing right you can improve. If you close your eyes and pretend it's not there you won't get any better." Driver is also looking to add to his three goals from last season - and could get a windfall from skipper Craig Gordon if he excels. He said: "I've always been okay at scoring goals growing up. I've had a bet with Craig that he gives me money if I score 10 goals. That's got to be my aim. If I can bag a couple early on I'll have a realistic opportunity."
