Not Dirty, Just Enthusiastic

Scott Leitch is bringing a different philosophy to Ross County's game for the season ahead. I wonder if he will fine players when they get booked?
Scott Leitch is looking for his players to deliver more brawn in his first full season in charge at Ross County. The former Motherwell captain has signed former Stranraer central defender Alex Keddie and former Dundee United goalkeeper Craig Samson. These imposing figures were indications that Leitch wants a more physical approach in the side he is building. He said: "If you look at our team last season, it was a very small side. We had some lovely footballers, but we need to change it ever so slightly. I still want to play football, but we want to stop losing goals. I don't think any of our players were suspended last year. In fact, did any of them get booked? I'm not saying we are going to be a dirty football team, but I don't see how a team can go through a season without a suspension. We want to be a physical team which wins games."
Like a lot of managers, Leitch knows that he will have to allow some players to move on before he can bring in many new players. Jim Lauchlan, David Winters, David Cowan and Gary McSwegan are all on County's transfer list and none of the quartet will play for Leitch in the new season. He said: "I have put four players on the transfer list and nothing has come of that yet. None of the four will play for us. They will be about the place as we are paying their wages, but I have to look at who will be playing for me next season and they won't be part of my plans. It was not an easy decision, but I think there needs to be change. To be fair to the four players, they are all good professionals who have trained well and looked after themselves and I am sure they will want to find new clubs before the season starts."
