No cut price bargains are going to be leaving Ibrox in the summer.

Buffel could be allowed to leave
Rangers are willing to wait for the money to be right before they allow any of their fringe players to leave Ibrox. Manager Walter Smith may be willing to let the likes of Thomas Buffel, Filip Sebo and Karl Svensson move on transfer. However, if no interest is generated, Smith insists he will welcome the players back for pre-season training at Ibrox. Smith said: "
If they're going to leave, there has to be an interest from another club in them. So we have to wait and see whether there is going to be any interest for anyone that's in our squad. If not, that's not a bad thing for us, in the sense that if everyone comes back next season, and we add a few players to that, we have a big enough squad to get on with."

Smith dismissed the notion that several players belonging to other clubs have already turned down moves to Rangers, insisting Celtic's new recruit Scott Brown is the only star he has missed out on. Smith said: "
Despite a lot of speculation in the press, we have only made a bid for one other player this season, the well-documented bid for Scott Brown. We have been looking and showing interest in a few others but so far we have only made one bid and all the stuff you hear about people turning down Rangers here, there and everywhere is not the case. We have to bring in a few players. It would be natural for everyone to speculate as to who they are, but so far we have only bid for one player. In the next few weeks we will make bids for others but that's an ongoing process."

June and early July are likely to be busy for all clubs including Rangers in the transfer market. Smith is very keen to have his squad in place well before the 2007-08 season begins. He said: "
We would hope that business can be done so we can bring players in before the pre-season training starts, because we only have a short period of time to integrate any new player. We have the Champions League qualifying game on August 1 so it doesn't give an awful lot of time."
