Dundee United returned to Poland for a stand-in keeper after their original choice broke his foot.

Grzegorz Szamotulski could be busy in his first game
Dundee United new boy Grzegorz Szamotulski does not look as if he will have much time to settle in at Tannadice before he gets his first team debut. He is in line to be named in the team to face Barcelona in tonight's friendly. Szamotulski was a free agent after leaving Sturm Graz and has joined United one a six-month contract to became the second Polish goalkeeper to move to Tannadice this summer. Szamotulski will act as a stand in for countryman and fellow recent recruit Lukasz Zaluska, who could be out until early September with a broken foot. The new arrival brings plenty of experience to the to United after previous spells with PAOK Salonika and Legia Warsaw.

Speaking yeaterday, United boss Craig Levein said: "
The injury to Lukasz Zaluska has left us short of first-team experience in a very important area of the team and we felt it important to try and fix up an early addition to the squad. Grzegorz comes highly recommended and is a player I was aware of before. Assuming all the paperwork and clearances are completed in time, he will be included in the squad for the Barcelona game."
