A new start with a new club is exciting for any player but having to get through the pre-season training must take the edge off it.

It's the same everywhere, pre-season training is always hard but you just have to get on with it and it stands you in good stead for the rest of the season. I have had a few weeks off because you need to recharge the batteries. But I have been looking after myself and hopefully I am going in there with a bit of shape so I'm not lagging behind anyone. You want to be going over to Germany with a good base. Playing against the quality teams you are playing against, you don't want to be feeling the pace of the games. So hopefully we will have a good fitness level and take it into the games. And the names Ajax and Chelsea speak for themselves. It's good for the players and obviously good for the fans so hopefully we put in good performances against teams like that." | |||
