Pre-season training allows players to catch up with holiday tales and meet new team-mates while they all sweat off those extra pounds gained in the close season.

Raith Rovers are busy with their preparations for the new season as the players reported for their first pre-season training session. Manager Gordon Dalziel, this year assisted by Frank Connor and Shaun Dennis, put the boys through some light exercises which allowed established players such as Todd Lumsden, Mark Campbell and Iain Davidson to meet up with close season signings. Michael Brown joined from Forfar and Chris Fahey from Stenhousemuir will be challenging for the number one jersey in the new season so they will be trying to outdo each other in training.

Dalziel had Armand One would be missing from the initial session as he had family business to attend to. However, the former Blue Brazil striker will be meeting up with the rest of the squad soon. Dalziel will be relying on some of last season's young players to do a job for him in the coming campaign, and Colin Leiper, Chris Liddle and Blair Batchelor who have already signed for another year were joined by Stephen Tulloch who is expected to put pen to paper later in the week
