Two Signings In A Week

Not too bad a week's work for Cowdenbeath as they have two new players to add to their squad.
The Blue Brazil have managed to persuade veteran midfielder John O'Neil to sign and become manager Brian Welsh's second signing of the week. O'Neil was capped for Scotland in 2001 when with Hibs before he moved to Falkirk and finally Gretna. Following his release at the end of the season from the border club, Welsh was keen to get his autograph on a contract. Welsh was pleased to have signed two players in one week, as O'Neil joined former Dundee United, St. Johnstone and Partick Thistle striker Stephen McConalogue as the new boys at Central Park.
Welsh said: "John was one of my main targets at the start of May and I am delighted that all our efforts to attract him to Central Park have proved fruitful. This is a major signing for the club and reflects the ambitions we have. Make no mistake, John had serious offers form elsewhere, but he wanted to be part of what we are trying to achieve at Central Park. I know John well from our time at Dundee United and he is a top-quality player. I watched him play for Gretna against Hearts in the Scottish Cup and he ran the show. His quality and experience will be vital for the coming season" | Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)
